Fran\u00e7ois Gilbert <\/span><span class=\"s7\">bought <\/span><span class=\"s7\">Domaine<\/span><span class=\"s7\"> du <\/span><span class=\"s7\">Bouc<\/span><span class=\"s7\"> in the village of <\/span><span class=\"s7\">Th\u00e9s\u00e9e<\/span><span class=\"s7\">. <\/span><span class=\"s7\">They renamed it Ch\u00e2teau de <\/span><span class=\"s7\">Th\u00e9s\u00e9e<\/span><span class=\"s7\"> because they felt that this outstanding site <\/span><span class=\"s7\">encapsulated one of the <\/span><span class=\"s7\">most prestigious <\/span><span class=\"s7\">terroirs<\/span><span class=\"s7\"> in the Cher Valley under the <\/span><span class=\"s7\">Touraine-<\/span><span class=\"s7\">Chenonceaux<\/span><span class=\"s7\"> appellation. <\/span><span class=\"s7\">A prime site for the Touraine wine industry, located in the village of the same name, it overlooks the Cher Valley. Numerous archives, some of them concurrent with the French Revolution, provide evidence of the continuous winegrowing past of the location.
